"Esconderijo" – a Portuguese word meaning "a hiding place" – evokes the notion of secrecy, a space where something or someone remains hidden, protected from view.
To reveal oneself is an act of exposure to the world, of declaration, of manifestation.
In this work, the interwoven threads stretch and unravel, caught in the tension of something striving to emerge. From within, fragments of crochet and dried flowers come to the surface – imperfect, unfinished traces of what was once obscured.
