The Kokemusu series is a body of work centred on the symbolism of vegetal moss, bringing together tapestries, objects, and embroidered wall pieces. Created through knotting, crochet, embroidery, felting, and assemblage, the works explore slow and organic forms of growth and transformation. Kokemusu is a Japanese verb meaning “to become covered with moss”. It evokes slow and discreet growth, the resilience of living things, and their capacity to adapt to time and environment.
